26 / 4 / 2009 -- Working Around

Greetings.

The one issue with having weekly updates is that you don't get informed about any changes that happen after an update until the next update, so you could potentially be a week out of date on the info. However, given the hassle that even the weekly updates present (the process of doing them without a one-click interface, that is, not actually doing the update), having updates more often is simply out of the question. This isn't a problem where Project Omega is concerned, since the more-or-less rigid scheduling enforces my debugging / clean-up schedule rather nicely. It does affect the other projects I periodically update though.

Take the INFINITY radio show, for example. Unless you peruse the podcast at right every so often, you wouldn't know that I uploaded the recording from Mission 8 (from 4 / 17) earlier in the week. I'll mark an RSS feed down on my list of things to do, _since I seem to have a lack of things to do_ as of late. Please note the sarcasm of that last bit, since it cannot be effectively expressed through plain text.

In other INFINITY news, the upcoming Mission 9 (5 / 1) for this week will be scheduled a bit differently. Due to events of a mystical nature - stuff that I don't know about, I mean - INFINITY will start earlier than usual. Since I don't have a for-sure time on it as of this writing, I'll have to give you an update when I do know. But, given that whole hassle thing I mentioned above, I'll use the news forum to impart that extra bit of info, since it is easier to do edits there than it is here...for now, anyways.

Project Omega is progressing splendidly. This update marks the end of Week IV of Phase IV and also begins the first "version" of code - 0.0.0.1 - for the new network. I plan to up the version every two weeks, just as an official marker of progress without the necessity of wordiness, like now.

I'll reveal a bit more about the versions and their various connotations another time - sleep is an unfortunate requirement for those defined as "human", a condition to which I must reluctantly adhere every now and then.

Mr. Bond, signing off.
