Greetings.
Summer is flying by more quickly than I'd like. Only four weeks and change left on my internship, then school starts up again a couple more weeks after that.
One thing I am definitely picking up now is the differences between ASP and PHP. They both have the same overall goal, but they go about that goal in fairly separate ways. While I'd like to stick to one over the other, the real world dictates that I will learn both eventually, one way or another.
With the first half behind me, my work projects are picking up the pace - most of that time was spent on documentation and proofs-of-concept. Now the real work starts, and as the technical lead for both sides, my workload essentially quadruples. Add to that the typical delays, goal changes, and static (or accelerating) deadlines...yeah, you get the picture.
Don't get the wrong idea here...I do like the work. If there's anything my summer jobs have taught me, it's that I handle stress better than I handle boredom, which is somewhat of a double-edged sword.
More to the task at hand...Phase V is progressing well. The benefit of a little more work initially is that much of it applies to later areas in the Phase, and that means a whole lot of visible progress for comparatively less effort compared to previous Phases. Thus far, no critical roadblocks or changes to the timeline. Everything is on time and under budget (if there was one).
Mr. Bond, signing off.
