14 / 6 / 2009 -- Substitution
Greetings.

The weeks are starting to sneak up on me. One of the downfalls of a more consistent routine, to be sure.

Officially, there is one week left in Phase IV. However, given the circumstances, and the fact that I've "recuperated" enough the past few weeks to last a couple Phases, I've decided to use the time I would have spent "at rest" between Phase IV and Phase V as a working week.

The thing is, I should have done a lot more recently, but after eight hours a day at a mentally draining job, I really have very little energy to do much else than watch TV (which is always a horrible waste of time, in my opinion). Now that I have acclimated to the daily routine, however, I should be able to more easily thwart the energy drain and do what needs to be done prior to the end of Phase IV.

With the peak of June, a semi-annual task looms on the horizon. Twice a year, I take some time to put together a full CD-length compilation of music in dedication to a little event called Winter-een-mas. Now, I know this time of year is far from the origins of the holiday, but what's the harm in celebrating it twice - akin to one's half birthday.

One other thing I forgot to mention when I retooled Project Omega's schedule - the whole new-version-every-two-weeks-thing is done...too much overhead and wasted time in enforcing that. Rather, I'll be taking a page from well-established development cycles, with a major release after every Phase. This will roughly translate to two Alphas, two Betas, and a Release Candidate, with the stipulation that, despite the names, the full product will not be available to the public until such time as I deem necessary - even beyond Release Candidate.

They say sleep is for the weak. but I'll be damned if I let them ruin sleep for me.

Mr. Bond, signing off.
