19 / 10 / 2008 -- Process, Threshold, Checkpoint

Greetings.

I'll admit I was a little apprehensive this week, since it was the first (of many to come) to have a critical pay-off. In short, what has come out of Phase II's Week III is an accurate indicator of just how far I am willing to go. Now that the week is over, I am confident that the answer is "all the way".

So now that Project Omega has a great start, I can't help but let my mind wander back to all those other projects that didn't quite have the same momentum behind them. To that end, I did spend a little time reading over old material from the cancelled project "Devastation". I laughed out loud many times, and that gave me some pause - I never realized how creative and detailed I was back then. And, especially with some of the more "serious" sections, how much humor I managed to work into the material. Further still, I am finding a great many parallels between my writing then and my writing now. This tells me that I've either hit on some good stuff, or I can't get past those certain failure points. Time will tell for sure, but given my generally optimistic outlook, I'm leaning towards the former.

In other news, I have a bit of an advertisement to put forward. Now, I know I've said that I'd fight ceaselessly against ads on this site, I am willing to make an exception, as a friend of mine is in need of some buyers. What I refer to is Into Light, a collection of poetry and prose written by Graham Marlowe and edited by Scott Werley. The latter I have mentioned numerous times, but it is the former for which I am peddling wares today.

If you're of the interest of that kind of material, I strongly suggest you check out the Into Light Facebook group, or if that is beyond your means, contact me directly and I'll pass the word along. The book itself is very reasonably priced, and the proceeds go (more or less) directly to Mr. Marlowe, who, like myself, is a poor college student.

...thus ends the advertisement. I believe it is for a good cause, and hopefully it will do some good for those involved.

Mr. Bond, signing off.
