19 / 1 / 2009 -- PCU, Part Two

Greetings.

Letting one update slip by is bad enough, but two? Blech. A series of minor setbacks postponed this long-overdue news post, but since those have been resolved now...

I am 21 now. That is to say, as of last week Tuesday, the 13th, I am legally privileged to consume alcoholic beverages. Why "they" picked 21 as the magic number baffles me; at 18, I could vote and join the armed forces, potentially losing my life in the process. So why, at 21, can I now magically "handle" alcohol? Yes, I know that "they" need to make the cut-off somewhere.

P.S., I had a great time that night (and remember all of it), which is partially why this update is so late.

Broken streams of thought aside, Weeks III and IV of Phase III are a little behind schedule; I managed to finish Week II and get 80% of Week III done yesterday. I know this sort of thing isn't good for the timetable or the quality of Project Omega as a whole, but I need to roll with whatever obstacles (self inflicted or otherwise) are present. I plan to finish Week IV on time and get the Project back on track by the end of this week.

During my short stint of..."extended" off-time, I was able to clean up and organize all of my archived projects and ideas. Truth be told, I had forgotten just how much I tried to do back then, and I'd venture that 98% of the material is still useful or will became useful in the future. If nothing else, it is entertaining to read documents that I had written five - no, six - years ago and reflect on how much I have or have not changed since then.

Winter-een-mas is fast approaching - it starts on the 25th, one week from yesterday. Per tradition, I'm organizing a party and have put together a musical compilation CD in celebration of the holiday. I may need to skip the other "tradition" of purchasing a new game, considering the financial situation and other purchases I have made as of late.

Mr. Bond, signing off.
