Greetings.
I usually make it a point to have Sundays as my one day off a week from Project Omega. Yet, more and more, Sunday becomes the catch-up day, either because there's so much work to be done, or (more likely) because I take a different day off during the week that I didn't plan. Oh, well...the important thing is the work gets done.
Following the completion of Week XI, we have some very nice looking (in my modest opinion) sample renders of what the network proper will look like; essentially, they are a few compositions through a
graphics program to get a feel for how the graphical elements interact, before taking the time to code it up as a real prototype. The one hitch this week is that compiling these sample renders took more time than I anticipated, so I couldn't actually do the real prototypes. But, given that Week XII is usually light, I believe I can have those prototypes done in tandem with the typical Week XII objectives.
And speaking of Week XII...the completion of Phase III marks the final "planning" phase, Starting with Phase IV, system development (i.e., coding / programming) begins full swing, and doesn't finish up until Phase VIII. As in previous Phases' Week XII's, I'll be formalizing all the Phase III documentation, as well as releasing select documentation from Phase II to the public. I've noticed that each Phase thus far has had a fairly liner growth in documentation and other payloads - that is, each Phase progressively has more to show for itself than the one before. For that, I am supremely happy, as it indicates the successful execution of Project Omega as a whole.
I have some reservations about Phase IV, however. Being the first true development Phase, I am not accustomed (exactly) to how to kick it off - with Phase II and III, I had other similarly-keyed Phases to look back on as a guide. Still, given that I've been looking forward to true development from the start, I can look past these reservations with a fair amount of excitement. The one Week Phase break will undoubtedly help, as well.
In slightly unrelated news, I finally have all of INFINITY Campaign Sierra-0-9 radio show episodes split and ready for upload to the ZHP Podcast. It's just a matter of taking the time to upload and organize them through GCast. As we all know, time is a premium...especially since this coming week is my Spring Break. Not all fun and games, though...even without the day-to-day classes, there's still the homework due shortly after returning. This is typical form, ever since the end of the "Gaming Era" (circa 1991 - 2006).
Ah, well...what is life without a little stress, and the conquering of that stress?
Mr. Bond, signing off.
