Greetings.
With the dawn of 2010 approaching, I am stunned as to how fast the past year has gone. More specifically, where has the time gone? I have seen a couple semesters of college education, a kick-ass summer between the two, and some awesome progress towards the completion of Zero Hour Productions. Small tidbits have been added here and there at irregular intervals, at least as some temporary filler until the magical day. When 2009 ends, that magical day will be precisely one year in the future. As a two-point-five year project, seeing so much behind and so much ahead truly is an incredible feeling. I would feel better were there more behind than ahead, but...such is life, right?
I find a certain sense of irony in the fact that, despite having decidedly more free time over the past weeks, less has been done than desired. With the opening of this week (or rather, the rest of this week), more integration of the audio component is planned. I have done a bit of research on methods for including streaming audio in sections of the Network, and have more or less decided that a custom Flash application would be superfluous, given the obscene number of Flash applications already out there that perform the function. I have no qualms about using a pre-developed application for the purpose, since it would take some work off myself.
Have a safe and happy new year...although that may be a bit much to ask. More to the point, when exactly does the new year stop being new? Never really understood that part. Either way, have some fun.
[EDIT]
Oh, actually...I'm going to throw another list on here. On the right hand column of the main portal will be a section labeled Other Network Objectives. This is bascially a list of other items to be completed outside the normal week-by-week objectives. They have no particular timetable, and are merely shared as a means of boosting transparency between the development side (i.e., me) and the public-facing side that is the Network and Forums. And it gives me a bit more of an incentive to get them done, since they are now known by the public at large.
Mr. Bond, signing off.
