3 / 1 / 2009 -- Full Resistance

Greetings.

This past week was a nightmare, but a nightmare that was conquered...mostly.

First round of the semester's exams are past, which is a relief, but there's no rest for the weary. I spent much of the weekend trying to catch up an Week IX, and I made some excellent headway, but the goal was out of reach. As such, this was the first time I've had to significantly re-tool Project Omega plans on the short-term. From the beginning, I've tried to make it as flexible as possible without sacrificing a stable, attainable goal structure. To see this first incident actually test that structure...

The coming week will be the acid test for the system. However, I have a very strong, positive feeling that the system will hold. From the onset, reworking the next couple weeks' plans seems to fit almost flawlessly with the rest of Phase III. I am confident that, should Week X go well, the system can meet and overcome whatever obstacles are presented, and what's more, leave almost a positive balance on the remaining time.

Last week, I mentioned some additional items I wanted to share. Unfortunately, I can only remember a few of them. That'll teach me to write stuff down when I think of it.

In my Internet wanderings, I came across a unique, artistic, insightful gem, courtesy of Scott Kurtz. The interesting thing about this is that the knowledge imparted is something that should almost be common sense, yet it takes an entire population to overlook it then one person to bring it to light. Check it out: an explanation of digital comics, according to one Balak01.

I remember a few months ago receiving an e-mail from a person I have since forgotten the name of. The content was a request for the files to Projectile Swapper, a simple Unreal Tournament modification I made long ago during my "Gaming Days" (circa 1991 to 2006). Well anyways, my apologies to the requestor for not notifying you directly; it's nothing personal, but I hope you find this eventually, and please let me know so I can make a permanent note of how to reach you. Check it out: Projectile Swapper files

Not too long ago, I received an entirely separate e-mail regarding QuickMatch, another Unreal Tournament modification made during the Gaming Days. Turns out that there are still people playing old-school and still want a shot at my mods. Well, thanks to the "Storage In/Ac-quisition" (circa 2005) and "Efficiency Revolution" (circa 2008), I had 99 percent of my old materials stored in logical locations. Thus, I put them up for the requestor. Check it out: QuickMatch files

I may eventually put the rest of my old projects up in similar fashion. Time will tell. I think I'll keep using the whole "era" thing above, too...they make me smile.

Mr. Bond, signing off.
