The ongoing Questing

Hey everybody,

Admittedly, when I started Quest for Semi-Glory, I didn't expect anyone (at all) to be interested in watching.  Now that I've been doing it for some months, I've found there's a small subset of people who find it entertaining.  That's awesome!  It was just supposed to be some time set aside for me to play games and the like, but if it brings entertainment, all the better!

In celebration and appreciation of those brave souls that put up with my salty language, awful nigh non-existent skill, and terrible attempts at comedy, I will be releasing a horribly-edited thank-you video soon.  I can't say when, for sure, because my videography skills are quite possibly The Worst.  But what I can say is that it will contain some keys to free games, as a small token of thanks to those that watch Quest for Semi-Glory.  On that note, please feel free to chat me up while I'm playing - I love getting distracted by the chats and summarily blaming them / you for my poor performance!

As far as what is upcoming for future quests, my backlog is holding steady at a dozen titles.  Those listed in the Twitch channel info are only the ones I have explicit (oral or written) permission to use in a live stream; there's plenty more that I need to verify first.  As you may guess, most are very much arcade-style games, where the point is largely to score and / or play well.  I feel that most other game genres (like long-winded RPGs, adventures, and the like) just don't fit the spirit of Quest for Semi-Glory.  That's not to say I don't play them, at all, but I don't think it would be nearly as entertaining for stream material.  In addition, there are a few that I plan to revisit - including Nuclear Throne and Jamestown - in an attempt to better myself further and see what new content may have transpired since my last play sessions.

In related news, soon the audio quality of all my / our projects (including Insert Credit(s)) will be noticeably better.  I ordered a hardware audio compressor, and will be installing / testing it this weekend.  Too late for tomorrow's questing, but in time for next week's and Round 17 of Insert Credit(s).  Essentially, what it will do is heavily moderate the volume of our voices, without us having to maintain a strict distance between us and the microphones.  Hooray for improvements!

That's all for now.

Imminent streaming

When I'm in Madison, want to stream Double Dragon II, or some other fun NES/SNES titles?
